The end of this year is upcoming. The Coronavirus outbreak still strongly impacts on the production and transportation. Following the easing of lockdown restrictions, infections rates are rapidly rising in China. Faced with a problem of labor shortage, Amtek would like to inform the customers of the current situation as follows:

1. Capacity reduction

Due to the lockdown-easing measures, the infections of Covid-19 in China is getting worse. Most of labors of our China factory and office are infected and unable to go to work for a week. The factory now is facing a serious labor shortage. In this situation, we estimate over 50% capacity will be reduced currently.

2. Labor shortage and long lead times

The shortage of labors has impact on not only the production but the supply chain, as well as transportation. From the preparation of raw material to the shipment to customer, the whole industrial chain slows down and it causes the extension of lead time which will be 2-3 weeks longer than usual. Furthermore, many of workers will return to hometown during CNY holiday. We suppose the labor shortage will not recover until Q2 2023.

To avoid the potential problem of delay in shipment, we suggest the customers send the orders early to help us to arrange the production schedule efficiently. For the open orders, if the customers would like to pull in the schedule, we will do our best to support and meet the customer’s request.
